IN TIMES OF TROUBLE OR DISTRESS
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:11-12
A faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, has promised you before the beginning of time. Titus 1:2
In my distress I called upon the LORD. Yes, I cried to my God, and from His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for help came into His ears. 2 Samuel 22:7
Cast your burden upon the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Psalm 55:22
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
Remember Your promise to me, Lord; it is my only hope. Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles. Psalm 119:49-50
Jesus says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. "For My yoke is easy, and My load is light." Matthew 11:28-30
And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. Revelation 21:4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. 2 Corin. 1:3-5
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corin. 4:18
But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise Him more and more! Psalm 71:14
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His Love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. Romans 5:5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead! 1 Peter 1:3
